Never Forget
This picture is at the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz while on my trip to Poland in 2018, and was taken on an iPhone 8 and remains unedited. It captures an insulator on the electric fence that surrounds and runs throughout the camp. “Never Again” is often the phrase used in referencing the Holocaust. Still, I felt “Never Forget” was fitting due to the increasing number of people who are unaware of the Holocaust.
Ryan Cooney is a sophomore at Indiana Wesleyan University and a biochemistry and economics double major with a minor in political science. He plans to pursue cancer research and hopes to become the next Julia Child. His family and friends are two of the most critical parts of Ryan’s life. Ryan is no doubt a renaissance man as he plays the cello, keeps bees, loves to cook, and enjoys traveling.
